Crystal Awards Categories
The following categories and their descriptions are available for the Crystal Awards Entries
- PUBLIC INFORMATION CAMPAIGN: A program designed to inform the public about a service, an amenity or a referendum, etc.
- COMMUNITY RELATIONS: A program, event or activity designed to improve communication with your community. Provide support materials, news articles, documentation of results, etc.
- CRISIS COMMUNICATION: Demonstrate how your organization prepares to communicate during a manmade/natural/other disaster or document how your organization responded to a disaster or crisis situation.
- SPECIAL EVENTS: A program designed to commemorate a special one-time activity such as dedications, ribbon cuttings, anniversaries, ribbon-cuttings, anniversaries, commemorations, celebrations, etc.
- INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS: Publications, manuals, ongoing programs, special events and any other projects aimed at communicating with employees or other internal audiences.
- EXTERNAL PUBLICATION: An informational publication produced regularly, such as a community newsletter, citizen guide, or any other printed publication.
- ANNUAL/QUARTERLY REPORT (Internal or External): An informational publication about your organization's mission, budget, services, accomplishments, issues, etc.
- SINGLE TOPIC PUBLICATION: An informational brochure, pamphlet, ad, poster, news release or other printed material about a specific issue or topic.
- VIDEO (SERIES): A daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly video program designed to present information to an internal or external audience. Include one complete program on VHS, plus three different one-minute clips of the series.
- VIDEO (OCCASIONAL): A video designed to present information to an internal or external audience on a single subject. Include the entire finished video production.
- VIDEO (PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT): Public service announcements for an internal or external audience, no longer than two minutes in length. Submit entry on VHS format.
- VIDEO GRAPHICS OR ANIMATION: Computer generated 2D or 3D graphics or animation such as show opens, station ID's, show treatments, etc. In house only.
- INTERNET WEB SITE: Online citizen information and communication with government. Entries should be submitted on a 3.5 IBM format diskette or CD. The URL should be included on the diskette or CD label.
- TECHNOLOGY SERVICES (OTHER THAN WEB PAGES): Bulletin boards, CD-ROMS; customer call centers; fax-on-demand; electronic newsletters; audio PSAs, presentations, etc. Submit samples or other documentation to support entry.
The judges may present a Special Judges' Award in any category. This award is give for any outstanding entry that achieves maximum results while using a minimum of money.
